A student of mine just woke me up

She called me to tell me she has a small temperature (99) and wanted to know if she should come to class tonight.  Said that she was at home, resting, and watching  The Holiday, and that Jack Black reminded her of me.  A lot.

Which, of course, reminded her to call me.

As she was hanging up, it sounded like she slipped and started to say “I love you”.  I know, watching a romantic comedy, whatever, sure.  But still a little odd.

Tonight I walk into a minefield: a class of 16 year olds smitten with yours truly.  This is a first.
